Major Duties:

  • Dive into energizing weatherization activities as outlined in job specification sheets.

  • From hanging doors to installing windows, adding insulation, and more, your work will directly contribute to enhancing energy efficiency in homes.

  • Keep it organized! Stage materials for jobs in our warehouse.

  • Safety first! Follow procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Be a team player! Attend staff meetings and in-service training sessions.

  • Other exciting duties as assigned!

 

What we're looking for:

  • Two years of vocational education in construction OR two years of construction experience (or your equivalent expertise from life experiences!)

  • Passion for making a positive impact and helping others.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally, with a valid driver's license.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $17.50 - $19.50 per hour

 

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday

Weatherization Energy Auditor

Western South Dakota Community Action is seeking a home energy professional to conduct energy audits, supervise work, and educate consumers on energy conservation under a Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program. Join an established and growing program to assist low-income households in maintaining warm homes.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Complete Diagnostic Energy audits to program standards as scheduled

  • Perform inspections and enter data into software

  • Analyze home and heating appliances using appropriate technical tools to perform heat loss calculations, measurements, and full analysis

  • Complete formal write ups of the home energy audit findings

  • Creates work orders based on the audit findings 

  • Provides support and guidance for crew leads during work completion

  • Ensure program files are accurate, complete, and in compliance with program requirements

  • Proficient in using performance and analytical tools

  • Serves as a representative of the company, displaying professionalism, courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion

  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BPI Home Performance Auditor Certification (or ability to obtain)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have insurable and valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift at least 50-80 lbs.

  • Develop a working knowledge of The Company’s Policies and Procedures

  • Must complete a criminal background check with no felony convictions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Above average oral, reading and writing skills to accurately operate a computer, perform necessary documentation and effectively communicate with staff, clients, and colleagues.

  • Frequent walking, climbing, reaching, sitting, pushing, kneeling.
