The Department of Energy (DOE)'s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
The WAP helps low-income households reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of their homes.
Areas of Focus:

Lowering heating and cooling bills.

Improving health and safety.
-
Providing upgrades at no cost to the household.
Program Highlights:

Average annual savings: $372 or more per household.
-
Common measures include insulation, air sealing, and heating system improvements.

About 32,000 homes are weatherized each year using DOE funds.
