Weatherization

The Department of Energy (DOE)'s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)​

The WAP helps low-income households reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

Areas of Focus:

  • Lowering heating and cooling bills.

  • Improving health and safety.

  • Providing upgrades at no cost to the household.

Program Highlights:

  • Average annual savings: $372 or more per household.

  • Common measures include insulation, air sealing, and heating system improvements.

  • About 32,000 homes are weatherized each year using DOE funds.

  1. Completed Weatherization Application

  2. Proof of Income

  3. Proof of Home Ownership

STEP 3

Submit your Application in one of the following ways:

  • Call and set up an appointment (605-348-1460) OR

  • Send the appropriate forms and application via email (kpalmer@wsdca.org) OR

  • Fill out the form below with the appropriate documents.
